Day 1:

CITY OF ORIGIN – TUNISIA – HAMMAMET

Flight from your hometown to Tunis International Airport - Carthage. *

Arrival at Tunis-Carthage International Airport, assistance and transfer to your hotel in Hammamet. Dinner and overnight.
Note: Dinner is subject to the time of arrival at the hotel. For arrivals after 21:00 hrs dinner will be cold.

Day 2:

HAMMAMET - EL JEM – SFAX

Breakfast and departure to El Jem to visit its magnificent Roman amphitheater (better preserved than the one in Rome and undoubtedly one of the most famous monuments in Tunisia for its impressive architecture that stands out majestically among the low houses of the city) and the Mosaic Museum. Continue to Sfax, the second most populated city in Tunisia, an important industrial and port center. Arrival, check in at the hotel and rest of the day free during which we recommend you take a walk through the medina, one of the most "authentic" in all of Tunisia. Its walls are almost intact and the best way to access the historic center is through the Bad Diwan gate. You can visit the different souks, which retain all the flavor of yesteryear and you can see the daily life of the city. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 3:

SFAX – MATMATA – TAMERZET - DOUZ

Breakfast and departure to Matmata, an enclave known for having been used as a setting in the movie Star Wars. Its main attraction is the so-called “troglodyte houses” excavated in the mountain and in which the center was emptied to create a truly peculiar outdoor patio. Then we will leave for Tamerzet, a curious Berber town, where we will make a stop. Continuation to Douz, called “the Gate of the Desert” where we can take (optionally) an excursion to the sand dunes on the back of a camel. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation.


Optional activity: excursion in the sandy desert on the back of a dromedary ( direct payment at destination).

Day 4:

DOUZ – TOZEUR

Breakfast and visit of the town of Douz. Next, departure to Chott El Djerid, an immense salt lake where you can observe, during the summer, the “Fata Morgana” effect, which consists of an optical phenomenon derived from the inversion of temperature that distorts the objects seen on the horizon. . Then we will arrive at Tozeur. Arrival, check-in at the hotel and lunch. In the afternoon, visit to Nefta, known as “the pearl of the country of palm trees”, ancient Roman Nepte characterized by its fountains that spring from rock walls and that give rise to an oasis with more than 400 palm trees called “corbeille” (basket ). After the visit, return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.

Day 5:

TOZEUR

Full board at the hotel. Free morning with the possibility of taking an interesting optional excursion on all-terrain vehicles to visit the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza (a particularly picturesque area with an incomparable landscape in the south of the country, where all the contrast of the wild landscape of the stone desert comes together. , the bare dry mountains, the greenery of the oases, the fountains and waterfalls) and the dunes of Ong El Jmel. In the afternoon, visit the old town of the ancient city and free time in the popular markets. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 6:

TOZEUR – QAIROUAN or HAMMAMET

Breakfast and departure to the Roman city of Sbeitla, to visit the Roman ruins of Sufeitula, one of the best preserved Roman legacies that we can find. Its importance lies in the fact that, having been an important Roman city, it later became the Byzantine capital, thereby recovering its ancient splendor. Continuation to Qairouán, the fourth holy city of Islam, where we visit its great mosque, the water reserves built by the Aghlabies and the Barber's mausoleum. Lunch and visit to a carpet factory. Free time to explore the Medina on your own. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and accommodation (*).

Day 7:

QAIROUAN or HAMMAMET – CARTHAGE – HAMMAMET

Breakfast and departure to the capital Tunisia, view of the Medina of Tunisia (the largest and best preserved in the country, which brings together a group of mosques, medersas, souks, palaces and houses that make it one of the medinas most beautiful and interesting in the Arab world) with its markets. Lunch and continuation to Carthage, the cradle of one of the most brilliant civilizations of antiquity. Ancient Punic and Roman capital where you can visit the Punic ports and the Antonine thermal baths (one of the most spectacular monuments preserved in Carthage and considered the third in the world after the thermal baths of Caracalla and Diocletian in Rome) . After the visit, departure to Sidi Bou Said, a delightfully romantic little town, a place of rest and pleasure, and which seen from afar seems like an impressionist painting. A walk through its alleys admiring the traditional Tunisian architecture with the two colors white and blue turns out to be very pleasant. Dinner and overnight in Hammamet.
