Day 4:

MELBOURNE - OCEAN COAST - MELBOURNE

Early in the morning, set off on a full-day tour of the Great Ocean Road. Leaving Melbourne, we cross the West Gate Bridge, a bridge that spans the Yarra River and serves as a link between Victoria’s capital and Victoria’s second largest city, Geelong. Arriving in Anglesea, we get our first glimpse of the stunning views of the south coast. From here, we drive along one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world, listed as a National Heritage Site. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to capture some stunning images, including the historic Memorial Arch at Eastern View and the introduction to the Great Ocean Road. It’s wise to keep your eyes peeled as you pass coastal towns such as Aireys Inlet, Lorne, Wye River and Kennett River for Australian wildlife, as you never know what you might stumble upon. You will have time to explore and support the local economy of Apollo Bay as this is our stop for lunch (not included) before heading to Great Otway National Park to walk among towering ancient rainforest habitats. The afternoon will be filled with wonder at the shipwreck coastline and the giant limestone piles, known as the 12 Apostles. Additionally, the cliffside beaches of Loch Ard Gorge are part of Port Campbell National Park, which has been carved out of the wild Southern Ocean over a period of time. A visit to the Great Ocean Road and the picturesque places we visit along the way is one of the most beautiful experiences you can have when visiting Victoria. Return to Melbourne and accommodation.
