Breakfast and departure on an excursion for a first contact with this spectacular region. We will begin with a visit to the Paşabağı or Çavuşin Valley. Next, we will visit the Uçhisar Valley where you can see its ancient fortress dug into the rock, the highest point in Urgup and from where you can have a panoramic view of all the landscapes of the valleys in the area. Lunch in a local restaurant. Visit to the town of Avanos, famous for its pottery. The pottery craft dates back to the Hittite era and was particularly developed in Avanos. We will be able to visit a pottery factory. In the afternoon, visit one of the incredible underground cities (Ozkonak or Kaymakli, one of them), used by Christian communities as a refuge to escape persecution. Visit of the open-air museum of the Goreme Valley, an incredible Byzantine monastic complex made up of churches carved into the rock with beautiful frescoes. Visit of the Avcilar and Güvercinlik valleys, which have a spectacular landscape of the so-called Fairy Chimneys. Lunch at a local restaurant. We will continue with the visit of the valleys of Cappadocia. During the excursion we will have the opportunity to visit workshops of carpets, onyx and turquoise.
