Kasbahs Route 8 days from Costa del Sol / Tarifa itinerary

Day 1:

COSTA DEL SOL / TARIFA / TANGIER / RABAT (160 km Spain + 250 km Morocco)

Transfer from the different pick-up points on the Costa del Sol to Tarifa. Boarding the ferry from Tarifa to Tangier. Upon arrival, our Spanish-speaking Moroccan guide will be waiting for you and will accompany you throughout the tour. Departure to Rabat. Arrival in the late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 2:

RABAT / CASABLANCA / MARRAKECH (324 km)

Breakfast. Visit to the most emblematic places of the diplomatic and administrative capital of Morocco, such as the exterior of the Royal Palace, the mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Hassan Tower. Continue to Casablanca to visit the most emblematic places of this city such as the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, the United Nations Square and the Corniche Boulevard. Continue to Marrakech. Arrival in the late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 3:

MARRAKECH

Breakfast. Visit of the city known as “the pearl of the South”, which begins in the magnificent Menara gardens, which have a side pavilion and countless olive trees. Afterwards, visit the exterior of the Koutoubia minaret, twin sister of the Giralda in Seville. Once inside the old part of the city, there is a visit to the Bahia palace, property of a nobleman of the city. Finally, arrival at Jemaa el Fna square, one of the most interesting places in Morocco from where you can access the souks and the medina. Guilds of wood, ceramic, leather and spice craftsmen are some of the places to visit. Lunch at the hotel. Free afternoon. Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 4:

MARRAKECH / AIT BEN HADDOU / OUARZAZATE (193 km)

Breakfast. Departure for Ouarzazate. This day we will take a scenic route across the High Altas to its highest point, the Col du Tichka, a mountain pass situated at 2,260 m above sea level, seeing villages built of mud and straw, as well as almost perpetual snow. Arrival at the Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, possibly the best known in Morocco and the location where several Hollywood films such as Gladiator have been filmed. Continuation towards Ouarzazate. Arrival at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 5:

OUARZAZATE / ERFOUD (314 km)

Breakfast. Departure to Erfoud, crossing the Dades Valley, passing through towns such as Kelaa M’gouna and Boumalne Dades with their immense palm groves and the Valley of the Roses. Arrival at the Todra Gorges. Free time to discover the place on your own. Continuation to Erfoud. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Very early departure in a 4x4 vehicle towards the sea of dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you can, in addition to seeing the solar effect produced by the sunrise in this desert place, take a camel ride, very abundant in this area of the country.

On arrival at Erfoud, continue towards Merzouga where the 4x4 vehicle awaits you to take you to the camp. During the tour you can enjoy the magic that the experience of seeing wonderful landscapes offers.

Day 6:

ERFOUD / FEZ (408 km)

Breakfast. Departure for Fez. This day we will first travel along the entire Ziz River Valley with its endless palm groves and mud and straw buildings. Later we will cross the Middle Atlas through cities such as Er-Rachidia or Midelt with high mountain climates and almost perpetual snow, with an incredible contrast between the heat of the desert and the snow of this place in just a few kilometres. During the route, we will be able to admire the cedar forest of Azrou. A brief panoramic stop in Ifrane, a small mountain town known as "little Switzerland" and for its ski resort. Continuation towards Fez. Arrival at the end of the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.

Day 7:

FEZ

Breakfast. Visit of the city founded in the 8th century by Idriss I, considered the religious and cultural center of the country, and one of the 4 imperial capitals of Morocco. During this visit, a several-hour walking tour is carried out through the most emblematic places such as the exterior of the Royal Palace, the Jewish quarter and the great medina, which is accessed through the famous Bab Bou Jeloud gate, having the possibility of living a return to the past in a part of the city that still lives close to the Middle Ages. Walls that protect its interior made up of hundreds of labyrinthinely organized alleys where customers will be able to experience a thousand smells and flavors in this place considered a World Heritage Site.
