Finland is a country in Northern Europe that borders Sweden, Norway and Russia. Its capital, Helsinki, occupies a peninsula and surrounding islands in the Baltic Sea. Helsinki is home to the 18th-century Suomenlinna sea fortress, the modern Design District and various museums. The Northern Lights can be seen from the country's Arctic province of Lapland, a vast wilderness area with national parks and ski resorts. Around 75% of its surface is covered in forest, and it has the largest archipelago in the world, as well as the largest lake district and the last great wilderness in Europe, Lapland.
